Welcome to all friends and visitors!

First, let me introduce myself to you. My name is John P. Olsen, contributing author for the New Age Music website devoted entirely to the exceptional music artist and those of you who share the same love of the very best there is to offer in the fascinating genre know as New Age music.

Secondly, I would like to just take a moment to publically thank B.T. Fasmer, creator and editor of newagemusic.nu, who is first and foremost my friend, and for his thoughtful consideration in allowing me to become a writer for our friends around the world. It is truly my honor to serve both artist and visitor and is personally rewarding to me to be part of the team.

The one thing I have learned is that this is your site too. We both welcome you to join us and submit ideas, comments, suggestions, or write your own blogs and posts. We will listen to you and welcome your input.

One important note to me which B.T. Fasmer has previously stated, and I also want to second, is that newagemusic.nu is not associated with a movement, nor do we follow any kind of philosophy of that nature here. With that said, this site is purely a fun place where artists and music lovers can discover one another, and we are here to offer our assistance to you with the best of our abilities.

Two of my earliest influences in the world of New Age music like many people, began with mainstream artists like Yanni and Enya, who I most certainly do appreciate, but so many new and less recognized artists have given so much of themselves to this genre and are very special to me that I don’t know where to begin, when given the most daunting task of listing my favorite five albums. I shall try.

1. John Adorney : Beckoning. 1998. Excellent rhythm and melody in all albums.
2. Vicki Logan : The Ride. 2004. Artist has creative personal influenced albums.
3. Medwyn Goodall : Visions. 90-95. Best of M.G. One of many great classics.
4. David Arkenstone : Eternal Champion. 1998. Great orchestra movements.
5. Tangerine Dream : Thief Soundtrack. 2004. Exceptional for movie soundtrack.

Also worthy of honorable mention are Paul Sills, Diane Arkenstone, Vangelis, Govi, Ginkgo Garden, Karunesh, Cusco, Enigma. The early progressive rock group Focus : Hamburger Concerto album is also New Age in theme, and was my very first influence. Please note that many outstanding artists were not listed.

I personally, along with my best friend and wife Judy Olsen, who I love so dearly, would like to Thank everyone for visiting the page of John P. Olsen on newagemusic.nu, Home of the Stars Radio ! We wish much happiness to you and your family.
