Hardware Music System by Jean Michel Jarre

In 2005 Jean Michel Jarre founded a company called Jarre Technologies. His goal was to create high-end, affordable and aesthetic home-entertainment products – and of course add some of that Jarre magic we all know so well.

Now the AeroSystem One is ready for launch. It is the result of four years research and development by Jarre and his team of sound engineers. Conceptualized in France, this powerful sound-system can accept many digital formats, such as MP3, AAC and WMA .

Most importantly, it is compatible with iPod and iPhone models and comes with an integrated USB 2.0 port, as well as a mini-jack port offering the possibility to connect the system to a laptop, a CD / DVD player, smartphones, hard-disk files, as well as a vinyl turn-table. It too incorporates an electronic signal circuit, tailor-made to reproduce both the bass line and high notes with optimal precision.

And it looks great! Check out all you need to know on Jarre.com.

Google, New Age Music and squares

The search engine war is still raging even Google seems to have total web domination. Microsoft has just launched their Bing.com update of the old Live.com, and the brand new Wolfram Alpha has also received a lot of attention. But Google is the greatest and they have not been lazy either; they have just launched the experimental Google Squared – which presents search results in an interesting, squared way – and we have tried it to see what it has to offer when it comes to new age music.

This is in a way a great way to test the new engine, since “new age music” must be considered a pretty obscure search. If it succeeds here, it will for sure offer great search options for more mainstream searches.

So when we input the search term “new age music”, this is the result we get:

I find this to be a pretty accurate top list. Number one is Yanni, who is getting many postitive reviews for his current Voices tour. Suzanne Doucet is of course also represented here, and Medwyn Goodall too. Notice how you get additional information as well, like birth dates. The text is obviously taken from different homepages (just look at the Goodall presentation), and is not optimized for the list. Still it gives a basic reference.

It is interesting to see how this system uses information on the net to rank artists. It is not very different from the usual search, but the difference is in the presentation. Here you get information about artists, not individual pages. I think that this simple search proves that Google Squared has a lot to offer in the world of search engines. And yes, there is new age music here too!

Try it!
