All that binds us is the name of Brazilian keyboardist/composer Corciolli’s first solo album, released in 1993 on his own record company Azul Music. The trademark of Corciolli’s music is gentle piano melodies backed by synths with a wonderful, analogue sound. The album All that binds us is in every respect a relaxing album, that takes you away to a dream world far away. Close your eyes, and you will feel connected to the thing that binds us all…

Still, there is much more to this album than relaxation. You’ll find some incredible songs here, that are simply created for the replay button. The song Far, track four, grips you from the first moment and takes you on a fast and enjoyable ride. It is a hit on New Age Music Stars too, so we know for a fact that it is a great song. The analogue sound reminds me of Tangerine Dream, and that is not a bad statement.

All that binds us is a great introduction to Corciolli’s impressive discography. You can sample it on CDBaby. If you enjoy All that binds us (and I bet you will), you might want to check out other albums, like his new The Astral City (2009).
